Caribbean Beer Bread

This quick bread comes together with just three ingredients, making it perfect for when you want homemade bread without the fuss. The beer gives it a light rise and a subtle malty flavor.

Yield: 1 loaf (8–10 slices)

Cook time: 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 375 g self-rising flour
  • 40 g sugar
  • 330 ml beer (room temperature)
  • 15 g melted plant-based butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C.
  2. Sift flour and sugar into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Pour in the beer and stir until just combined — do not overmix.
  4. Transfer dough into a greased loaf pan.
  5. Bake for 1 hour until golden and firm.
  6. Remove from oven, brush top with melted  butter, and return to warm oven (turned off) for a few minutes.
  7. Slice and serve immediately.
